Established in  2000, the fund currently awards $100 to a local (Bucksport, Castine, Deer Isle-Stonington, Blue Hill) high school senior or college student towards tuition at a  post secondary school. In this current scholarship year, 22 applications were received!
For the past few  years, the Devereux Family and friends have held an annual Garage Sale at the Boatyard on Route 166 in West Penobscot, Maine.  Proceeds benefit the scolarship fund.   Our hope is to build enough principal so awards can be made from the interest. 
Interested candidates should submit a letter and application identifying the college or vocational school to be attended, the course of study and the purpose of his/her education.  Each applicant should also describe his/her high school career, including academic performance, awards received, extra curricular activities and any special interests he/she may have.  Letters should be addressed to:
